You may have seen on your travels, some of the great architectural
buildings in the world, the Pyramids and the Sphinx, the Acropolis,
Windsor Castle, to name just a few of the many great architectural
structures, some of them built over 1000 years ago, and still
standing today, and all built with stone.
Stone was one of the first building materials used by man, to
build small stone houses to the mighty structures still standing
today. It is one of the hardest and durable materials on earth.
Scarifoza uses stone, which comes from local resources, to build
their villas and village houses for many reasons, one already
mentioned. We are aware of the environment and the history of
Cyprus, and we wish to maintain and continue with that history,
by building properties that will still be standing and lived in
for hundreds of years to come.
Stone has many properties, it keeps the houses cool in summer
and warm in winter, it has a calming and pleasing appearance,
does not require any maintenance at all, will not crack and weathers
beautifully
Scarifoza villas and houses will contribute to the history of
Cyprus, by building our properties to blend in with the local
landscapes, in villages where there are existing stone properties
built centuries ago, and still lived in today.
All of the larger stones used in our villas are carefully and
skilfully hand crafted by our skilled stone masons, and over 9000
stones are used for each house or villa creating properties of
charm and character. Stone is long lasting, weather resistant
and maintenance free, and pleasing to the eye.
